PRINCIPAL

Nicholas initially qualified with Deacons before becoming Senior Corporate Partner in a medium size practice. He established his own firm in 1992.

With more than 42 years of legal practice in Hong Kong, he specialises in corporate and commercial law, trusts and intellectual property. He also advises on Hong Kong tax matters and private client work.

He is a founder member and former President of the Hong Kong Institute of Trade Mark Practitioners, an association that represents more than 110 lawyers and intellectual property professionals.

He also serves on the board of directors of GS1, a non-profit-making body focused on barcoding, supply chain management and e-business — an area that brings together his corporate and intellectual property expertise. He is a long-standing member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate-Practitioners).

 

Nicholas is fluent in English, Hungarian and French, and regularly works with international clients across multiple jurisdictions.

Alan initially qualified with Wilkinson and Grist before setting up the firm of Day & Chan.

 

With more than 54 years practice in Hong Kong, he specialises in non-contentious, commercial and corporate work. He is also involved in probate, conveyancing and trust matters.

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Teresa specialises in intellectual property, probate applications and estate administration, conveyancing, tenancy matters and general non-contentious commercial work.

She has extensive experience advising and assisting clients on trademark and design applications in Hong Kong and internationally.  Her practice also focuses on probate matters involving Hong Kong and cross-border elements, where she supports both local and overseas clients in estate administration.  Her work includes, but not limited to, the collection and distribution of assets, handling property matters, facilitating company share transfers and managing the sale of publicly listed shares. 

In addition, she has considerable experience in property related transactions, including sale and purchase of residential and commercial properties, as well as leasing and mortgage arrangements.  She also advises on and handles transactions involving the transfer of landed properties through share transfers for both Hong Kong and offshore companies.

Helen has been engaged with the Firm for more than 13 years.

 

She specialises in commercial, employment and immigration law. She handles criminal matters and private client matters including Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Advance Medical Directives.

She handles general mediation cases and provides Civil Celebrant services.

 

She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
